Bodybuilder 15 years ago, Kely Moraes, 45, was the target of a transphobic attack last Monday (26) after being confused with a trans woman.
A resident of the Roda de Fogo neighborhood, on the outskirts of the North Zone of Recife, she divides life between training, work as a personal trainer and likes to create content for social networks. On the internet, you share tips on welfare, self-esteem and mental health.
“I usually post my life, my daily life. I live fighting against depression and panic syndrome. Whenever I can, I talk about self -esteem, because it improves those who follow me and, especially, help me too,” says the professional, who performs on social networks as a Monster trainer.
The passion for bodybuilding began long before the academic formation. Three years ago, Kely completed the Physical Education course, driven by the desire to live in what he loves. “Being in gym has always been my place. I never had such an embarrassing situation,” he says.
At 1.75m tall, and dedication to the physicist, Kely stands out for her physical size built with a lot of effort, discipline and a strictly planned diet. Routine that, until then, causes admiration and, in some, people of prejudice for having no doubt about the sexuality of the professional. On Monday morning, she was the target of embarrassment and verbal violence within the Selfit Network Academy in Boa Viagem, in the South Zone of Recife.
After being prevented by a student from accessing the women’s room for being confused with a trans woman, Personal shared the entire episode with her followers on the internet. “At the time, I kept my calm because I thought of my profession. Even though I was embarrassed, I still had the fear and concern that it could harm my career, since I was in a high middle class academy. I love what I do,” he says.
Mother of a 25 -year -old girl and grandmother of a 7 -boy, Kely says that, one day after the confusion, she didn’t even find the strength to leave the house. “I won’t forget that. It’s a pain that gets. But they won’t shut up. I know who I am,” he reinforces.
Kely awaits the results of investigations of the Civil Police of Pernambuco.
The Selfit Academy positioned itself about confusion within a network unit. The company says it regrets the episode and has ensured that it “repudiates” any act of prejudice, discrimination or violence.
The man and the woman filmed trying to prevent the personal from using the women’s bathroom have not yet been found by the CNN.
