Global average temperatures will continue to break records

Data from the World Meteorological Organization indicate that there is 80% probability of 2024 to be surpassed in the coming years and is no longer the hottest year since there is a record.

The most recent report of the World Meteorological Organization (OM), released on Wednesday, points out that global average temperatures remain at least 2029.

Ko Barrett warns that the new reality “will have a growing negative impact on our economies, our daily lives, our ecosystems and our planet.”

The WMO report points to the average annual surface temperature to be between 1.2 ° C and 1.9 ° C higher than the average of the pre-industrial era.
