In an exclusive interview for young Pan, vocalist Pedro Calais revealed the origin of the name chosen for the project: ‘It’s an album about being in the present and enjoying the things you can play and live in the real world’
The band, originalreleased his newest album at 19h this Tuesday (27). Titled “The Colors, Curves and The Pain of the World”, the album has ten unreleased tracks and a special partnership with the singer Céu in the track “Tô De Eye”. Lagum emerged in 2014 and is currently formed by vocalist Pedro Calais, guitarists Zani (Otávio Cardoso) and Jorge (Glauco Borges), and bassist Chico (Francisco Jardim). The original drummer, Uncle Wilson (Breno Braga), died in September 2020, after a cardiorespiratory arrest.
In an exclusive audition for guests, the songs of the new album were played in a 360º acoustics room that made the environment even more intimate. And this is what songs bring: lightness, tranquility, but at the same time the urgency and importance of living the present.

It’s an album about being in the present and enjoying the things you can play and live in the real world,” he said. Asked what song should be hit on radio stations throughout Brazil and digital platforms, Calais bet on ‘slow morning’, while Chico and Jorge chose ‘The City’, and Zani ‘eternal now’.
Pedro also differentiated this album from previous ones, stating that ‘the colors, curves and the pains of the world’ was made “very calm to have been recorded in our studio” and that is the “first independent album” of the band. For those who do not know the band, Chico and Zani have recommended ‘Eternal Now’ and Jorge quoted ‘Tô de Eye’, the feat with the singer heaven.

The innovative strategy of hiding tapes in several cities in Brazil before the album’s release generated great repercussion among fans. Each contained an unprecedented song, available firsthand to those who managed to locate it, creating an exclusive and differentiated experience among the lovers of the band Minas Gerais.
Lagum has already received two nominations to: the first in 2022, with the album ‘Memories (where I never went)’, and the second in 2024, with ‘Lagum Live’ – both in the category of best rock album or alternative music in Portuguese. With a new story being written in ‘The colors, curves and the pains of the world’, the trend for the band is to achieve more and more prominence in Brazilian music – and they have the potential for it.
