Sporting side alleges a “body imbalance”. Inquiry comes from a complaint, possibly made by César Boaventura.
The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) launched an inquiry against the Sporting player, the target of a disciplinary participation of Benfica after the Portuguese Cup final last Sunday, which resulted in the Leonine victory 3-1.
The inquiry was opened after a complaint, but, according to, the PGR does not confirm if it came from the part of the Benfiquista agent César Boaventura, who said he made a complaint.
At stake is the controversial bid after 94 minutes, when the lions side stepped on the head of the incarnate striker Andrea Belotti. Matheus Reis has already justified the episode on his Instagram account, classifying it as a “Body imbalance”. “At no time has there been an intention of aggression,” he wrote.
On social networks, a video of Sporting festivities circulates, where players display a poster with the image of Matheus Reis. “Here we step on the head, c ******”, hear the video later erased.
Benfica had already presented one with the objective of “replacing the sports truth” and made an exhibition about arbitration to FIFA, UEFA and IFAB.
The complaint was made “based on articles 144 and 147 of the Penal Code, for evidence of public crime of offense to severe physical integrity, aggravated by the means used” – the player’s pitons of the player.
