Juraj Droba, President of the Bratislava Self -Governing Region (BSK), proposed to the director of the Bratislava Theater Arena Juraj Kukur to terminate the cooperation. BOD will announce a proper selection procedure for a new director who will lead him for a five -year period at the next meeting. The management of the theater will be entrusted to Jozef Šuran, the economic director, the artistic management of the theater will be provided by a long -time employee of the Arena Arena Theater Alexandra Sarvašová. He informed about it at Wednesday’s press briefing.
“I suggested termination of cooperation and a dignified departure for a managerial pension with an offer to properly end this theater season, to receive appropriate honors and reward. This offer continues to be,” The chairman of the BSK said that his leadership had reached a collective decision today.
Droba refuses to throw someone out of office by phone. He responded to publicized information. As he explained, the directors of the institutions are appointed and dismissed by the self -governing council. He admitted that he had a personal working meeting with Kukur, where he interpreted the director of the theater serious reservations about the management of the BOD against the functioning of the institution.
“We interpreted their management of the theater orally and in writing, they were communicated continuously and very clearly. In particular, they concerned budgetary management, which threatens the stability of the theater and the fulfillment of the program priorities we have set, ” Maliced Droba. Kukura thanked the Bratislava Region for 23 years and for the construction of the Arena Theater to its present form.
“At BOD, we are convinced that we are doing the right, the Arena Theater needs a new impulse to continue to develop. I sincerely thank Mr Kukura for putting his heart into the arena. He built the flagship of our cultural institutions, ”said Droba, who also thanked Kukura for standing firmly at the theater during its reconstruction.
At the same time, the chairman of the BSK expressed the belief that the successor of the Director of the Theater Arena will progress with dignity and develop the institution so that it is still here for viewers who have high demands for artistic quality and also for all residents of the Bratislava region.
