History of Chelsea
Chelsea was founded on March 10, 1905, in the Fulham neighborhood of London. In the early decades, the club has gained prominence more for its popularity than its expressive achievements. It was only in 1955 that he won the first major title: the English Championship.
The 1990s marked the transformation. With the arrival of international players, Chelsea began playing titles more often. In 1997, he won the England Cup and the following year the European Recopa. The most significant change came in 2003, with the club’s acquisition by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
Between 2004 and 2017, Blues won several Premier League titles, England Cups and League Cups, consolidating themselves as one of the main forces of English football.
In the European scenario, Chelsea reached the apex in 2012 by winning Champions League for the first time. In 2021, the club repeated the feat by beating Manchester City in the final. In the same year, he also won the unprecedented title of the Club World Cup.
