The National Confederation of Shopkeepers (CNDL) and the Chamber of Shopkeepers Young Shopkeepers (CDL Jovem) promote on Thursday (29) the “Free Day”, date in which traders from 26 states and the Federal District sell their products and services without passing the amount of taxes to customers.
Retail Street Stores, Shopping Centers, restry, service presenters and gasoline posts participate in the action. .

In 2024, more than 50,000 retailers participated in the action and there was an impact measured at $ 63 million on spontaneous media, according to the official tax day website.
For 2025, the expectation is that more than 100,000 stores, in 1,500 cities, participate in the initiative. According to the Confederation, 2 million consumers are expected to benefit from discounts.
“Tax -free day is the largest national clarification campaign on the impact of taxes on consumer goods on citizen’s life. The action gains even more strength in the regulation of tax reform,” says CNDL President José César da Costa.
“The country needs a less bureaucratic and costly business environment, with a fair, efficient and basic collection system that serves as the basis for increasing competitiveness, productivity and reducing the huge social differences in Brazil,” he points out.
