Florence – the former director of the Salzburg Festival and later director of the Florentine Opera House Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Alexander Pereira, was sentenced to 22 months in prison on Thursday in Florence. The judgment is not final. He was found to be guilty of embezzlement in two cases, since according to the judgment, he had spent the money from the Florentine Opera House without these expenses being covered by his contract.
