The Municipal Program for Atypical Mothers Care and Guidance has become a pressing necessity, considering the challenges faced by these women, who often deal with the lack of support and resources. With the approval, the municipality undertakes to ensure the priority of these mothers in health, social assistance and education services, as well as creating reference centers for specialized care.
The objectives of the program include providing psychological and therapeutic support, developing awareness campaigns, fostering social inclusion and creating a municipal register of atypical mothers, as well as encouraging the participation of civil society organizations.
The councilman’s authorship project highlights the reality faced by these mothers, who often abandon or reduce their work hours to take care of their children. According to IBGE data, about 17.3 million people in Brazil have some disability, and a significant part of responsibilities falls on mothers. The implementation of the program has the potential to mitigate the difficulties faced, promoting a structured support network and a more humanized look.
