A large fire reached the naval hub of Cruzeiro do Sul on the night of Wednesday, May 28. The flames focused on one of the warehouses of the building, located in the Miritizal neighborhood. There is still no information on what would have caused the fire.
The Naval Polo is the place where maintenance are built and carried out on vessels, as well as the production and repair of motor reeds, essential activities for the river transportation of the region.

The Military Police were called and isolated the area to ensure safety in the surroundings. The Fire Department was also on site to combat the flames. The company Energisa was called to turn off the mains that fed the warehouses in order to avoid higher risks during the action of firefighters.

Authorities continue to accompany the situation, and new information should be released in the coming hours.
