Four people died after thousands of Palestinians broke into a United Nations deposit in Gaza, pulling parts of the building’s metal walls in an attempt to find food.
Two people were fatally crushed and two others died from bullet injuries when the crowd forced the deposit of the World Food Program (PMA) deposit in Deir Al-Balah on Wednesday afternoon (28), local health officials.
A Red Cross campaign hospital reported that among the injured were women and children with bullet injuries. Images show multitudes shouting and pushing into the building, while other people throwing flour bags and boxes for the crowd.

It is still unclear whether the shots departed from Israeli forces, Hamas, Private Security, or others involved.
“Horde of hungry people broke into the Al-Ghafari deposit in Deir Al-Balah, in the center of Gaza, seeking food supplies that were pre-posted for distribution,” the PMA said in a statement, warning of “alarming conditions and on the spot.”
“Humanitarian needs came out of control after 80 days of total blockade of all food assistance and other aids in Gaza,” the statement added. “Gaza needs an immediate increase in food assistance. This is the only way to ensure that people do not starve.”
