In Paraíba, president joked with the situation, saying that he found that ‘Labirintitis is excessive intelligence’; Lula’s speech about health came when he said he will announce a program of medical experts
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Wednesday (28) at an event in Paraíba, which spent an hour and a half in medical examinations to find out the cause of the dizziness he suffered earlier this week. “Yesterday I spent an hour and a half inside a machine to find out if I had a problem with my head, because I felt a dizziness. It was labyrinthitis,” said the president.
He still played with the situation, saying that he found out that “it is excessive intelligence.” But I arrived at the doctor, the doctor said, ‘You’re wonderfully well. You are handsome. Go to Cachoeira dos Índios which is better. Then I’m here, ‘”he said to the audience of supporters in the city.
After having lunch at Planalto on Monday (26), Lula felt vertigo and was, in the official car of the presidency, to the Syrian-Lebanese hospital of Brasilia. He canceled agendas with ministers Fernando Haddad (farm), Rui Costa (Civil House) and Luciana Santos (Science and Technology). Leaving the hospital in the late afternoon, he was at rest in the dawn. The president dispatched at the official residence during this Tuesday (27). Lula performed image and blood tests at the hospital which, according to doctors Rafael Gadia and Luiza Dib, are “within normal.” Lula’s speech about health came as he said he will announce a program of specialist doctors.
Lula also promised a credit line for motoboys who work with food deliveries. At the event, Lula also criticized his predecessors for the delay in taking the São Francisco transposition project off paper, which began in his previous term. He stated that God left the backlands without water because he knew that he would become president of the Republic and also stated that “the presidents preceded him to make him transposed the São Francisco river.
“It had been 179 years since water was promised for this region. Thank God, I discovered one thing: God left the backlands without water because He knew I was going to be president of the Republic and I was going to bring water here,” said Lula. In the speech, Lula said that the works of transposition were not initiated by his predecessors for “lack of courage.” He also stated that hunger due to drought is a sign of “lack of shame” of presidents and governors of the states.
“Drought is a phenomenon of nature. There will always be drought. Now, hunger because of it is a lack of shame of the people who govern this country and the states of the federation,” said the president. Lula participated in the delivery of Marco 1 of the Apodi Ramal, which is part of the works of transposition of the São Francisco River, in the municipality of Cachoeira dos Índios (PB). The structure, which is 75% completed and should be finalized in October 2026, is 115.5 km long.
Earlier, in Salgueiro (PE), Lula was at the signing ceremony of a service order to double the water pumping capacity of a São Francisco Transposition station at the event, he spoke of the importance of buildings and highlighted the impact of the provisional measure of the electricity sector for the poorest population.
