The Minister of Foreign Affairs, said on Wednesday (28) that the granting of visas is a sovereign decision of each country.
He was questioned at a House hearing about the announcement of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that the US government to foreign authorities acting against freedom of expression-an extent that it can affect Minister Alexandre de Moraes, (Supreme Federal Court).
“This concerns visas for people. The visa policy is from each state and the state makes the decision to grant or not to grant. There are numerous known cases of Brazilians who ask for a common tourist visa and are denied,” Vieira said during a hearing at the House’s Foreign Relations Commission.
“It is a decision of the country, sovereign of each country to grant or deny, and has no explanation,” he said.
The announcement of the management of the president, which will sanction with visa blockade who “censor Americans”, does not mention. But pockets evaluate that he, as well as other members of the Brazilian and the Brazilian judiciary, will be reached by the restriction of visas.
In his speech, Vieira stated that there is a difference between common visas and special travel permissions for certain meetings in international organizations. In this case, according to him, the country’s host country is required to grant it.
The expectation of the licensed deputy (PL-SP) and his allies is that a specific measure directed to Moraes is still leaving.
