Appointed as one of the biggest names in the history of the Classic Physique category and one of the main competitors of the title left by Chris Bumtead in Olympia, Terrence Ruffin said last Tuesday (27) that Ramon Dino could not beat Mike Sommerfeld if the German bodybuilder presented himself with the best physique of his career.

“If he (Sommerfeld) arrives at the point, I don’t see Urs (Kalecinski) or Ramon overcoming him,” said the US athlete in an interview with Giles Thomas during his participation in the most renowned world bodybuilding championship podcast.

At the time, the prosecutor and bodybuilder talked about his expectations for this year’s edition of Olympia. Ruffin, in turn, remembered 2020 and 2021, years in which he lost only to Cbum, and claimed to be one of the main competitors for the title this year: “At that time, I already believed I could win someday. Of course, I needed years of work, more volume. Today, I’m sure I can win Olympia.”

Ruffin was runner-up of Olympia in the 2020s and 2021. His last participation in the tournament took place in 2023, where he took fifth position. In addition, he is two -time champion (2021 and 2022) of the Ohio edition of the Arnold Sports Festival, the “Arnold Classic Ohio”. Last month, he returned in a larger version than the previous ones was champion of two shows (Pittsburgh Pro and New York Pro) after beating the current sixth best Classic Physique on planet Jose Manuel Muñoz.

Already Dino does not come from a good season. In 2024, the Brazilian failed to try to keep his title of Arnold Classic Ohio and took the second position of the championship won by Wesley Vissers. Olympia runner-up in 2022 and 2023, he fell to fourth place last year. However, he stood out in Pittsburgh Pro’s guest and is pointed out as a favorite to the Olympia 2025 title at Classic Physique.

Sommerfeld, in turn, is the best name in the category today, as the only person who won him at last year’s Olympia, Cbum, is retired. This year, he became Arnold Classic Ohio champion.

In an exclusive interview recently granted to Folha de S. Paulo’s Blog Muscle, Acre’s bodybuilder claimed to be more symmetrical and be able to get drier than German: “I can get more conditioned than him, and I think my symmetry is a little better.”
