So you will check if there are ticks in the garden. Just take it to the garden

Ticks appear in our gardens, which is why we are exposed to contact with them almost every day. So let’s know how to conduct a simple test that will allow us to check if they are present on our property and by the way, if there are a lot of them. In addition, we should take care of preventive measures that will allow us to scare off these arachnids.

Garden ticks are a considerable problem. The largest number of them appears in spring and summer, Although you can also observe their activity even in autumn or at the end of winter – at the turn of February and March.

What attracts them to a given place is air movement, smell and heat. Due to the fact that they do not like hot and dry days, they are most active after the rain when it is wet. We can come across them, not only in high grass, But also on the edges of water reservoirs or on lawns and in home gardens.

Their presence is dangerous for us and it is worth taking actions that will scare off ticks from our garden because These arachnids are carriers of many serious diseases. They transfer, among others, Lyme disease and cause tick -borne meningitis.

Arachnids are also dangerous to our quadruple and can also infect them with dangerous diseases. Therefore It is worth knowing how much we are struggling in our garden.

To find out if they are in our garden, we can do a simple test for which we do not need any specialized equipment. It turns out that all we need is a white terry towel, because his texture catches ticks well.

Then, with a towel, we wrap the stick, e.g. from a brush or from a mop, and drag it on the grass, bushes and lower parts of the trees. After a few minutes, we watch the material thoroughly. Dark and small points visible on it are most likely ticks. Thanks to this simple method, we will check whether they are present in our surroundings and in what scale.

Therefore, plants should be planted in the garden that will scare away the ticks with their aroma. Such specimens include, among others. In this way, we will create an effective, natural protective barrier. It is also a good idea to prepare a home for ticks, which we will make, for example, from clove oil, peppermint and lavender.
