Νότια Κορέα: Κατατέθηκε στη Βουλή πρόταση μομφής κατά του προέδρου Γιουν

Early vote for the South Korean presidential election began today, before Tuesday’s vote, hoping to put an end to the political crisis caused by the former state leader Yun Suk Yuki because he attempted to impose a Military law in December.

Although June 3rd is the official day of the vote, voters who want to vote earlier can go to the polls today and tomorrow, Friday, based on a meter implemented in 2013 and allows electors to vote earlier.

The vote began at 06:00 (local time, midnight in Greece), will last 12 hours and will continue tomorrow, Friday.

According to the National Election Commission, at 12:00 (06:00 Greek time), participation in early vote was 8.7%, the highest rate at the time in the Asian electoral history.

The Koreans who live abroad also set a historic record, as they have already voted by correspondence on four -fifths of the 1.97 million of recorded voters.

“Since this election was organized after a crisis of dismissal and military law, it reflects the public’s strong desire to express his thoughts on democracy in South Korea,” Kagnk Joo-Hunn, Professor of Politics, told the French Bureau.

The polls are favorite of Lee Jae-Mung, a 61-year-old, a former lawyer who became a political official of the center-left Democratic Party, with 49% of the vote intent.

Following is former Labor Minister Kim Mun-S so on the right-wing party in second place with 35%.

These elections were announced by the Conservative President Yun Suk Yuk on April 4 by the Constitutional Court of Court of Justice, in December 2024, to impose military law.
