The state of registered 17.6% in theft in April compared to the same month last year, according to data from the Public Security Bureau.
There were 13,981 occurrences this year, against 16,972 in April 2024. It is the lowest given for the period since 2001.
In the capital, the index fell 14.9%from 9,896 to 8,421 cases. In Greater São Paulo the fall was from 19.5%, from 3,984 to 3,205, while inside the retreat was 23.8%, from 3,092 to 2,355 occurrences.
In the accumulated 2025, thefts reached the lowest level in history in the state, as the Secretariat attributes to the results of the integrated work of the Civil and Military Police. Between January and April, there were 59,204 occurrences – a 14% lobby before 68,878 in 2024.
There was also a 21.1% reduction in vehicle thefts, according to the secretary, and 6.4% in vehicle theft, always compared between April this year and 2024.
