Targets of the minister, the (Supreme Federal Court), provoked the magistrate on Wednesday (28) on social networks, after the government announced the restriction of visas in those who consider that they censorized US and resident companies and citizens.
The decision, announced by the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, equivalent to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Brazil, is not named after the STF minister. But the content of the measure leads allies of (PL) and even government members (PT) to believe that the magistrate will be affected.
Rumble’s executive director Chris Pavlovski took the opportunity to pin Moraes on social networks. At X, he wrote, “Dear Alexandre de Moraes, maybe now is the time to let Rumble go back to Brazil? What do you say?”
Moraes he claimed that court orders referring to the platform were not met – these orders were confidential, but then the process was made public. And so it has determined that the suspension will continue to be valid until this situation is reversed, including the payment of fines.
The company’s lawyer, Martin de Luca, said Moraes committed censorship by issuing the orders.
“There is no attack on Brazilian sovereignty – what happened was a violation of the digital sovereignty of the United States. Minister Moraes issued secret orders against US citizens and companies, demanding censorship and blockages within US territory, without any legal base, without international treaty and without jurisdiction,” he said.
The former senior counselor of Trump Jason Miller also caused Moraes on the networks. He shared the secretary of state’s post in X with a caption.
“Share this with someone who immediately comes to mind when you read it. Okay, I’ll start … Hi, @alexandre,” he wrote, marking a disabled profile of the magistrate – Moraes disabled his account in X.
And it has helped the licensed deputy (PL-SP) to seek sanctions from the US magistrate.
On Wednesday, by announcing the restriction of visas to foreign authorities to enter the US, Rubio stated that freedom of expression is a good valued by Americans.
“In some situations, foreign authorities have taken blatant censorship measures against US technology companies and US citizens and residents, without having authority. Today I am announcing a new visa restriction policy that will be applied to foreign citizens responsible for censoring protected expressions in the United States,” he said.
“It is unacceptable for foreign authorities to issue or threaten to issue arrest warrants against US citizens or residents of social networks on US platforms while physically present on American soil,” he said.
Although the US government’s decision is one of the actions that can reach Moraes, Eduardo’s expectation is that a specific measure aimed at the STF minister will still come out.
It would be the signing of a decree by Trump to apply punishments of the so -called magnitsky law, which provides for sanction to people accused of human rights violation and corruption.
For this action, in addition to being prevented from entering the US, Moraes would be sanctioned from OFAC, a foreign asset control office, which belongs to the US Treasury Department.
Thus, it would have any goods in the US blocked and restrictions on transactions with US institutions.
