The Russian secret service allegedly watched a Ukrainian with permanent residence in Germany through three men. They were arrested by the Hessen authorities, the investigation process is already in progress.
The German Federal Prosecutor’s Office made charges against three men who allegedly worked for the Russian secret service. He claims that their task was to follow a former Ukrainian warrior in Germany, probably with the intention of killing him. The Senate of the High Regional Court in Frankfurt am Main must now decide whether the process will be held on the matter, TASR reports, referring to DPA and AFP.
The accused were identified as Robert A., Vardges I. and Arman S. They come from Ukraine, Armenia and Russia.
The prosecutor’s office stated that the Armenian of Vardgesa I was commissioned by the Russian secret service to follow a Ukrainian with permanent residence in Germany early May 2024. For this purpose he recruited two other men. They wanted to meet the Ukrainian on June 19 at a café in Frankfurt am Main, intending to identify it and get further information about it. However, he previously contacted the police and did not come to the meeting.
The action was to be a preparation for the next
All three accused were arrested by members of the Land Criminal Office in Hessen; They have been in pre -trial custody since then.
The prosecutor’s office assumes that this event probably served to prepare other news operations in Germany. It does not rule out that its aim was to physical liquidation of the Ukrainian.
Two weeks ago, three Ukrainians were arrested in Germany and Switzerland to suspect that, on the order of Russia, they were supposed to carry out attacks on freight transport in Germany.
Last week, a trial with three men who allegedly planned sabotage actions against military infrastructure in Germany began in Munich. Two of them were arrested in April 2024.
