The public hearing was requested by Sindimoto, one of the entities that represent the category. The application motorcycle service is defended by platforms such as 99 and Uber, but faces opposition from the mayor (), which points out risk of increased accidents.
According to a statement obtained by the panel, 60 vacancies were offered available to interested parties, with free parking guarantee for motorcycles.
“Why is this cause important? Passenger transport by motorcycle application is temporarily forbidden in the city of São Paulo,” says the 99 message sent to motorcyclists. The meeting point for participants was scheduled for a hotel in downtown São Paulo.
The invitation also says that the “reward” to motorcyclists will be made within five days after the event and will be valid “upon participation in the event”.
In a statement, 99 says it is offering “support and cost allowance for motorcyclists who are voluntarily interested in following the discussion about the MotaApp service.”
“The 99 takes this action today to keep these self -employment close to the discussion. Many of these workers do not have economic conditions to stop working and fight for their rights, a situation aggravated without the opportunity to obtain extra gains from people’s transportation services, such as 99Moto, which is temporarily suspended in the city of São Paulo,” he says.
