The transfers of parliamentary amendments grew in 11 Brazilian states in the first months of 2025, as revealed by the newspaper published this Friday (30.MAI.2025).

The data was compiled from information provided in the transparency portals of the 27 states. In 13 other federation units, there are no updated or detailed data on transfers, while 3 states recorded a reduction in resource movements or stabilization over the same period of 2024.

The largest increase was in Santa Catarina, where, according to the survey, the amount intended for parliamentary amendments rose from R $ 609 thousand in the first months of 2024 to approximately R $ 11.4 million, which represents a variation of 1,777%.

Then, Rio Grande do Norte appears, with 1,544% increase in the value of transfers, which went from R $ 1.785 million to just over R $ 29.3 million. Roraima was the 3rd state with the highest appreciation: the transfers of parliamentary amendments went from $ 55.9 million to $ 97.5 million.

The values ​​remained almost unchanged in Rio Grande do Sul, while they had a reduction in 2 states. Espírito Santo had a 1% drop in transfers, from R $ 172 million to R $ 170 million. Already the Amazonas had the most sharp drop, with values ​​reducing by 27%, or from almost $ 274 million to just over $ 199 million.

The significant increase in Santa Catarina is explained by the increase in the budget for parliamentary amendments, approved by the deputies in December 2024. The amount went from R $ 418 million to R $ 812 million, consequently increasing the amount committed in the first months of 2025.

For the political scientist at UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), Paulo Baía, the movements are influenced by proximity to the election year.

Congress approves standardization of amendments
