The embassy of Israel in Brazil held, on Wednesday (28.MAI.2025), a solemn reception in Brasilia to celebrate the 77 years of the independence of the State of Israel (Yom Haatzmaut). The event brought together about 500 guests, including congressmen, ministers of higher courts, diplomats and representatives of the Jewish community.
The ceremony also marked the farewell of Ambassador Daniel Zonshine, who will return to Israel in July and should retire. During his speech, he thanked Brazilians for his historic partnership and said that international solidarity is essential at this time.
“Solidarity is also the source of concern, as they have passed 600 days of the war and we still have 58 hostages in the hands of Hamas. This is a priority for all of us in Israeli society”He said.

The theme of the event, “Wheat grows again ”aims to extol the ability of resilience and innovation of the Israeli people in the face of historical adversities.
The ceremony had speeches, honors, execution of the national anthems of Brazil and Israel for the band of the Presidential Guard Battalion and presentation of the Brasilia Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the tasting of typical Israeli dishes and contemporary Arabs.
Senators and deputies who are part of parliamentary fronts Brazil-Israel reinforced what they understand as relevant to the partnership between the countries and quoted the couple of Israeli diplomats Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, which occurred in Washington (USA) and perpetrated by an extremist anti-Israel.
