Interim Board discusses partnership with current US supplier; German brand made contract offer that can reach R $ 1 billion
The Interim Board of Directors will meet at Parque São Jorge next Friday (6.Jun.2025) with Nike representatives to discuss the current sports equipment supply partnership, according to the Globo Esporte.
At the same time, the team from São Paulo has a proposal from German Adidas, who was willing to sign a contract that can reach $ 1 billion.
The interim president leads the negotiations alongside vice president Armando Mendonça and marketing superintendent Vinicius Manfredi, who recently returned to the club. The current Corinthian management seeks to establish dialogue with Nike after receiving the Adidas proposal.
Nike has maintained commercial relationship with Corinthians since 2003, but the bond between the parties has weakened in the previous management, by Augusto Melo, removed on Monday (26.MAI) for an impeachment process. The situation worsened when the US company filed an automatic renewal clause, which would extend the contract until 2029.
The current contract with Nike runs until the end of 2025. Despite the uncertainties about the future of the partnership, the US company has already completed the design of the club’s uniforms to 2026.
The Corinthian Board chose not to take the Adidas proposal to analyze the Cori (Guidance Council) at the Thursday (29.MAI) meeting.
The German brand demonstrates urgency to close the agreement, considering the time necessary for the development and production of uniforms. However, he agreed to wait a few weeks, recognizing the recent change in the presidency of the São Paulo club.
