Investigated by determination of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) for possible coercion crimes in the course of criminal proceedings, investigation against criminal organization and abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, licensed federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) has once again attacking Minister Alexandre de Moraes and said he is interested in running for the presidency if he is “a mission” given to him by his father, the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
“Brazil should have had the decency of being able to stop Alexandre de Moraes. It did not happen. So we had to resort to the American authorities. We will take the first step to rescue Brazilian democracy. The STF today overthrow what was approved by Congress. It is not a healthy democracy,” Eduardo Bolsonaro said in an interview with the magazine Look Posted this Friday, 30.
The licensed deputy says that Moraes behaves like “a tyrant” and states that the minister “knows that he will be defeated because he does not have the truth beside him.”

In March this year, Eduardo Bolsonaro asked for his mandate at the House of Representatives to live in the United States “to seek sanctions on human rights violators.”
“We here in the United States will do everything possible to trigger government levers so that US authorities, if they understand, to make Moraes and people financially linked to him as much as possible,” he said in the interview.
Last week, United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that “there is a great possibility” that the Supreme Minister was the target of sanctions by Donald Trump’s government.

Already on Wednesday, 28, Rubio announced that the country will restrict visa to “foreign authorities and accomplices in the censorship of Americans.” Without quoting Moraes directly, he mentioned Latin America as one of the examples of application.
Elections 2026
When asked if “thinks about being a candidate for president”, Eduardo replied that “if it is a mission given” by Bolsonaro, he will fulfill.
“Obviously, if it is a mission given by my father, I will fulfill. Even my name has already been in some research, right? I was happy. But I think in a normal democracy, who should be a candidate even should be Jair Bolsonaro, who even leads in the polls,” he said. The former president is ineligible by decisions of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

The deputy also cites speculation about a possible candidacy of former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro. “Michelle has a very low rejection, a speech very close to the evangelical people and the agenda of women. But it’s Jair Bolsonaro, in fact, who will decide. I think it will be difficult to take the possibility of him (Bolsonaro) to compete. Once again, I believe there is a chance at the end of the tunnel to correct Brazilian democracy and get it as a candidate,” he said.
