
Seven people have been seriously injured and an eighth, a woman, is in a critical condition after a multiple outrage that has occurred this Friday afternoon, according to Efe sources from the local police. The driver – a man of about 80 years – has entered with his vehicle in the local fairgrounds (of 9,547 inhabitants) and, for reasons that are still investigated, he has overwhelmed the eight victims, according to the same sources.
112 Galicia had record of the incident around 4:15 p.m., after receiving the notice from Galicia-061 health emergency. According to the information also provided by individuals, a car left the road and ran over a group of people who were in the attractions area.
“All those involved remained aware, and at least a woman who had suffered wounds in one leg needed urgent health care,” according to emergency services. Galicia’s 112 details that all victims have been transferred to the reference hospital.
The injured belong to the EU group are, a non -profit foundation dedicated to the protection of people with intellectual disabilities.
The mayor of Burela, Carmela López, has issued a statement in which she moves her support and strength to “moments of enormous concern.” In the note, he appreciates the work of the entire device deployed, as well as the neighbors, which “once again have shown their humanity and commitment.”
The governor has asked for “understanding, calm and respect in delicate moments” and has assured that she will remain in direct contact with the affected families, as well as with the hospital, “accompanying and offering support.”
