Wednesday’s meeting of these two leaders resulted in an agreement that Berlin will help Kiev to develop new long -range weapons. “Our Defense Ministers will today sign a memorandum of understanding about the procurement of long -range weapon systems produced in Ukraine,” Merz said at a joint press conference with Greeny.
“We want to allow long -range weapons to be made, we also want to allow common production. We will not talk publicly about details, but we will intensify cooperation,” he added.
In addition, Germany will provide Ukraine with further military support of approximately EUR 5 billion. According to Reuters, the ministry pointed out in its statement to Russian air attacks, “in which many civilians were killed and injured, as well as massive destruction of civil infrastructure”.

Why did they hesitate?
