American Minister HegSeth claims that China is going to use the power to change the balance of power in Asia

The US Defense Minister warns of China’s threat in Asia, Beijing is preparing for an invasion on Taiwan until 2027.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth warned on Saturday that China “clearly and credibly preparing for the potential use of military power to change the balance of forces in the Indian-Pacific region”. TASR informs according to AFP report.

“The threat that China represents is real and could be immediate,” Hegseth said in a security forum called the Shangri-La dialogue in Singapore, adding that Beijing “hopes to dominate and control” Asia.

China and Taiwan

Hegseth also pointed out that the Chinese army is “preparing for a real situation” as he is preparing for a potential invasion of Taiwan.

“It is publicly known that (Chinese President) ordered (Jin-pching) to his army to be able to invasion on Taiwan until 2027.

Challenge the ally

Hegseth also called on Asian allies and partners of Washington on Saturday to rapidly increase their military spending due to the threat of China.

“American allies in the Indian-Pacific region can and should quickly modernize their own defense,” said Pentagon chief at Singapore’s Shangri-La dialogue, adding that “deterrent is not a cheap matter”.

USA remain in the region

At the same time, the US Secretary of Defense said that the United States is “back” in the Indian-Pacific region and “will remain” there.

“America is proud to be back in the Indian-Pacific region-and we will stay here,” he said in a speech at this important intergovernmental security forum in Singapore and described this region as “our priority place of activity”.
