A Russian missile hit a front line region in Ukraine on Saturday, 31, killing one child and hurting another, according to information from a Ukrainian authority.
There is still uncertainty about whether Kiev diplomats will participate in a new round of peace negotiations proposed by Moscow for early next week in Istanbul, Türkiye.
Russian troops launched about 109 drones and five missiles against Ukraine at night and throughout Saturday, the Ukrainian Air Force said. Three of these missiles and 42 drones were destroyed by the air defenses, while another 30 drones did not reach their targets and caused no damage, according to the statement.

A 9 -year -old girl was killed in an attack on the village of Dolynka, at the front line of the Zaporizehzia region, and a 16 -year -old was injured, Zaporizehzia governor Ivan Fedorov said.
“A house was destroyed. The explosion’s shock wave also damaged several other houses, cars and auxiliary buildings,” wrote Fedorov on Telegram.
Moscow, in turn, did not comment on the attack.

Meanwhile, 14 people were injured after Ukrainian drones reach residential buildings this Saturday in the Russian city of Rylsk and in the village of Artakovo in the Kursk region, west of Russia, according to interim governor Alexander Khinshtein.
Four children are among the injured in both attacks, which also caused several fires, Khinshtein said.
On Friday, Andrii Yermak, one of President Ukrainian’s leading aides, said Kyiv is ready to resume direct peace negotiations with Russia in Istanbul on Monday. However, according to him, Kremlin must present the promised memorandum with his position on the end of the war, which has lasted more than three years, before the two delegations gathered to negotiate.

In a statement made on Friday night, Ukraine President Volodmir Zelenski said Russia is “undermining diplomacy” as the document retains.
“For some reason, the Russians are hiding this document. This is an absolutely bizarre stance. There is no clarity about the format,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
Moscow had previously stated that he would deliver the memorandum during the negotiations.
