The Brazilian Women’s Football Team paid tribute to the Environment Minister, Marina Silva, before the friendly against Japan, held on Friday night (30), at Neo Chemistry Arena, in São Paulo.
The symbolic act, which had the public fires and applause, was an initiative of striker Marta, in conjunction with the athletes of the national team. The action was supported by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and highlighted the trajectory of Marina Silva in the fight in defense of the environment and women’s rights.

Marina accompanied the entrance of the players in the field and then watched the game in the CBF cabin.
The tribute took place a few days after the minister withdrawn from a session of the Senate Infrastructure Commission, amid heated discussions about the bill that flexes environmental licensing in the country.

In addition to recognizing the history of Marina, the gesture was also a position against misogyny, harassment, femicide and other forms of violence faced by Brazilian women.
