The Ethics and Discipline Commission of the suspended Romeu Tuma Jr. from the presidency of the Club Deliberative Council. During this period, Tuma presided over important meetings, including the resulted in the removal of the club president, and another that failed the accounts regarding the 2024 year. The suspension originates in two disciplinary proceedings opened at the request of Melo himself and advisor Roberto William Miguel, known as Lebanese, ally of the departure agent.

The accusations against Tuma involve arbitrary exclusion from counselors from official discussion groups, derogatory statements against other members, and dissemination of information that would have impaired the club’s institutional image. Conducts were also indicated that would indicate bias in conducting the impeachment process of Melo. The rapporteur of the case, advisor Mario Mello Júnior, recommended the preventive suspension based on the club’s statute. The suspension was approved by 3 votes to 1. The counselors were voted in favor Mario Mello Júnior, Ronaldo Fernandez Tomé and Paulo Juricic. The only opposite vote was from the counselor Rodrigo Bittar. In a second vote, which would define whether the departure would start immediately or to wait for the plenary, there was a draw. Since the committee chairman, Roberson de Medeiros, could not vote for being the immediate replacement of Tuma, Juricic reformulated his vote, enabling immediate removal.

Tuma may still present a new defense, present documents and indicate witnesses. The decision is provisional and will be submitted to a new analysis of the Ethics Commission and the vote of the Plenary of the Deliberative Council.
