The mayor of Recife, (PSB), is known for his strength on social networks and one of the main exponents of digital communication on the left. He sees in the Federal Deputy (-MG) who most engages on the other side of the political spectrum, which he calls “sense of opportunity”-algo that the whole right would have on social networks.
In addition, it evaluates that the “state speed does not accompany the speed of digital” and that the government needs to adapt. And it says that the breadth of the discussion today, which goes from freedom of expression to democracy, prevents debate from advancing. “Everyone is fighting and no one decides anything.”
João Campos says that the social network is an indispensable instrument of politics today and recognizes the role of the right in this area. The engagement that the party deputy of achieves on networks is “mixing a lot”.
“There is a sense of opportunity, to say the need – I will not say that it is the right thing – at a proper time,” he told the Sheet. “It has sponsorship instrumentalization to start the video until it takes the vein, and has a very large organic network that the right has,” he said.
Nikolas was already known to the right for his performance on social networks, but he fell to the bubble when, in January, a video criticizing new federal revenue rules than Pix. Today, only at the X (formerly), the publication had 8.7 million views.
The video, which has some inaccuracies, has driven the pressure against the measure and made the government back off. In it, the parliamentarian said that Pix would not be taxed with the standard of revenue, but says “not doubt” that the payment system can be taxed in the future.
João Campos acknowledges that one of the elements for Nikolas viralizing is “the very large organic network that the right has.” But it also points to an inorganic part, which is to use sponsorship to make the “Startar until you get the vein” video.
“And there is a part that is that you put information that doesn’t necessarily consider the truth. I’m not talking specifically about a particular video, but you get a broad subject, so you talk about ten subjects, put six truths and four inventions in the middle,” he said.
“And this is not done by chance, this is done to engage, because often what engages is the lie. So it is difficult, it is difficult. But it must be recognized that the right has an important sense of opportunity,” he added.
New national president of, João Campos gained prominence in his political field with communication on social networks, became government advisor (PT) in this sector and even indicated members of his team from Recife to Secom.
“There is no magic formula. In my opinion, the number one premise is that it has to be true, authentic. So, don’t want to be like someone else on the social network. This is the first mistake. If you want to imitate someone on the social network, it will possibly be a fake thing, it won’t look true,” he said.
The social network is today a necessary instrument of politics, according to the mayor. But it argues that it is necessary to make improvements in the increasingly violent use of them, especially in politics.
“The speed of the state does not accompany the speed of digital. Of course this has to have a suitability. The way it is today, you start from a premise that has common sense, both of those who use and companies. And often lack common sense. You have to have some construction. Maybe even change the name, no longer a regulation of social networks,” he said.
