Vienna – 5007 suspects were determined in connection with social service fraud in the previous year. That was 7.82 percent more than in 2023. 1400 Austrian citizens were of the suspects. This emerges from the answer to a parliamentary request from FPÖ by Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP). The resulting total damage was 23.36 million euros in 2024.
