“Now there are experts” was launched this Friday with the objective of reducing queues for specialized consultations
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) launched the program “Now has specialists” this Friday (30.MAI.2025). The MP (Provisional Measure) aims to reduce queues for specialized consultations and procedures in the SUS (Unified Health System). Here’s (PDF – 369 kb).
The measure implements structural changes in public administration to enable the expansion of specialized care in the public health system. There are 6 priority areas: Oncology, Gynecology, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology.
During the ceremony, held at the Planalto Palace, Lula stated that “now experts” is “dream”From his life.
“If we can avoid deaths caused by lack of treatment, we have an obligation to act. In the past, people died for not being able to buy essential medicines. We have solved this problem. Now, my obsession is to ensure that when looking for a doctor and receiving a diagnosis, the person can consult a specialist quickly.”he said.
The president also thanked former Health Minister Nísia Trindade. According to Lula, she made a “almost inhuman effort to put this program standing”.
Among the main changes is the transformation of 129 vague positions of intermediate level into expert posts in regulation and health surveillance at Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency). At the Ministry of Health, 2 departments will be created – an exclusive to the National Cancer Policy.
“All of this is being done without a cost increase, only with the relocation of positions within the Ministry”Said Health Minister Alexandre Padilha.
The program provides for 10 main actions, with accreditation of private institutions, expansion of hours of care in public health units and exchange of health plans and private hospitals for care to SUS. According to the minister, a new payment model will be applied, with an expected investment of $ 2 billion per year.
“The idle positions in the Ministry of Health are being transformed to enable the biggest reinforcement ever done in Anvisa. The Provisional Measure already guarantees part of this, and the bill that will be sent will allow the opening of 385 new vacancies. Reducing the waiting time in Anvisa is essential, and this is one of the fundamental actions to give more agility to the system,” said Padilha.
The complete program implementation schedule and specific waiting time reduction goals for each specialty have not yet been released by the government.
