United States President Donald Trump when asked about his message to Chinese college students on American soil who do not want to have their visas revoked tonight they will “look good.”

“They’ll be fine. It’s going to be all right,” Trump told reporters when he landed from Air Force One.

“We just want to check students individually. And that goes for all colleges,” said the president.

Trump’s comments were made after his government announced that “he will aggressively revoke the visas of Chinese students” earlier this week.

Trump also blamed Harvard for not meeting the repeated government requests to produce a list of his international students.

“[Harvard] He should give us the list and get rid of the problems, but they don’t want to give us the list because they have names there that are supposed to be very bad, “he said.

“We want people to love our country,” Trump added.

The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Wednesday that and suspended “aggressively”, adding that revokes will target Chinese students, including “those with connections with the Chinese Communist Party or study in critical areas.”

It is unclear with which the new revokes will be quickly or covered to be implemented, but the CNN He previously reported that the announcement caused shockwaves in China, generating confusion, anxiety and widespread fear between current and future students and their families, as well as strong opposition from Beijing.

Rubio’s declaration

Rubio also said that the US will also revise the visa grant criteria to increase surveillance over all future visa requests from China and Hong Kong.

More than 275,000 China students studied in the United States in the school year of 2023-2024, according to a report by the International Education Institute (IIE) and the State Department. China was the second country that most sent students abroad to the US, behind only India.

US educational institutions depend on tuition paid by international students. Many of these students also participate in research and innovation projects.

The announcement comes after the US government has announced restrictions on issuing visas to foreigners, including authorities, who “censors” Americans.

In X, Marco Rubio wrote that “it is unacceptable for foreign authorities to issue or threaten with US citizens or residents for posts on US platforms on social networks while physically present on American soil.”

He said it was “equally unacceptable” for foreign authorities to require moderation of content from US technological platforms, according to Reuters news agency.
