Without spray it will be difficult

Why do you also take spraying when growing tomatoes? It is simple: these plants are susceptible to many fungal and bacterial or viral diseases. Without treatment we can rely on the favor of nature, but it makes no sense to lie – it is not sure at all. Thus, tomatoes can attack, for example, one of the most destructive fungal diseases, ie moldness, but also septorium spots of the leaves, anthracnosis, or bacterial spots. It is still just an outline of a rich “selection” of diseases that perhaps attract tomatoes directly. Obviously, spraying will still be less evil in their case.

Plan time and spray

So when and what should we treat the tomatoes to avoid unnecessarily frustrated work and actually money (not to mention the disappointment of the lost crop)? In the preventive spraying plan, fungicides do not miss the plants, but apply them preventively. So do not wait for discovery symptoms, it would be too late. The first spraying should be done within a week after moving the seedlings to the garden. Continue to regularly ten -day intervals until the end of the season. Does it seem too often? Believe that experienced gardeners know what they are doing.

Fungicides help against fungal diseases

Of the products that are on the market, we have a choice of both common fungicides, ie spraying the germs of fungal diseases, as well as copper compounds that act in the same way, but can also liquidate bacteriosis before their first manifestation. It is a more environmentally friendly variant of spraying, as in the case of potassium bicarbonate (potash), or neem oil, which acts not only as a fungicide, but also as an insecticide and thus protects the plants from insect pests. If you really insist on spraying only from home raw materials, there is still a variant of using a water solution with the addition of vegetable oil, edible soda and fine soap.

Work really carefully

In order not to miss your efforts, it is always necessary to treat the whole plant perfectly, including the lower sides of the leaves. Use the finest sprayer as possible to achieve the finest possible solution of the solution. Always plan the procedure for the morning, but only if it does not deviate to the rain or does not blow too much wind. These variants of spraying should be alternated – each affects different types of diseases or pests, so it is possible to cover a larger spectrum of possible risks in this way. And don’t forget: Once you find a leaf attacked in any way, do not hesitate and remove it. But never throw it into the compost, its place is in the garbage.
