Even before the ball rolled in Munich, Brazil was already victorious in the decision of the Champions League, in a repetition that completes exactly two decades.
Winning Paris Saint-Germain, as happened in an unprecedented way (and beaten 5-0), or Inter Milan, which remains with three titles (1964, 1965 and 2010), the country would have at least one champion player.
This year are two to raise the ear (nickname of the competition cup), both defenders: former Corinthian Marquinhos, 31, holder and captain of the Parisian club, and former São Paulo Beraldo, 21, who was in the reserve bench. In the runner-up, the national representative was left-back Carlos Augusto (former Corinthians), 26, who entered the second half.
Since the 2005/2006 Champions, that is, by 20 consecutive editions (record), the champion team had Brazilian (s) in the cast. And always with the participation, in the decision, of a brasuca in the field, either as a starter or entering the game.

In the final of 2005, in Istanbul (Türkiye), Liverpool, without Brazilians, defeated on penalties the Milan of goalkeeper Dida, the sides Cafu and Serginho and midfielder Kaka.
Since then, year after year from 2006, the brasucas were there, in the winning team.
To mention the most famous, in chronological order considering the initial achievement (some gained more than once): Ronaldinho Gaucho, Cafu, Kaka, Julio César, Lucio, David Luiz, Daniel Alves, Marcelo, Casemiro, Neymar, Alisson, Philippe Coutinho, Thiago Silva, Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior and Ederson.
Holder of the Brazilian team, Marquinhos, champion this Saturday (31), deserves a chapter apart. He is the first Brazilian, as a captain, acting in the European Champions League final and won it.
In 2022, in conquest of Real Madrid, left back Marcelo was the captain of the team, so much so that he received and raised his ear. But he did not participate in the game against Liverpool in Saint-Denis (France). Stayed in the reserve, did not enter.
In 2020, Thiago Silva captained the PSG of Neymar and Mbappé in the decision, lost (1-0) for Bayern.
Marquinhos is one of the symbols of PSG, with admirable and rare longevity for most footballers: he arrived in Paris in 2013.
This Saturday (31), he played all the time, from beginning to end of the final, with a lot of security and without failure.
With the inclusion of Marquinhos and Beraldo, the list of Brazilians winning Brazilians, including those who have another citizenship (cases of Deco, Pepe and Thiago Motta), increased to 55.

The first born in Brazil to win Champions when she was still called the European Champions Cup (national leagues champions, unlike today’s, participated in a 1960 (Real Madrid 7 x 3 Eintracht Frankfurt), is striker Darcy Silveira dos Santos, now 91 years old.
He had already won with the Merengue team in 1959 (Real Madrid 2 x 0 Stade de Reims), in a cast that had another carioca, much more celebrated: Waldir Pereira, Didi (1928-2001), champion with the Brazilian national team in 1958 (Sweden) and 1962 (Chile).
Brazilians with the most titles in Champions are Marcelo and the defensive midfielder Casemiro, five times each (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022), always for Real Madrid.
