France authorities have so far recorded two deaths during the Paris Saint-Germain fans for the conquest on Saturday (30), which generated incidents that resulted in the arrest of at least 559 people, most of them in the capital. According to preliminary data, a woman was hit by a car while driving a scooter in Paris. This death adds to that of a 17 -year -old who was stabbed last night in Dax in southwest France.
The woman, whose age and nationality have not yet been disclosed, died after a vehicle collided with the scooter that was driving on a street in the west of the capital and not far from Parc of the Princes, PSG stadium. In turn, the young man died after being stabbed in the chest in circumstances that remain unknown. The young man was taken in serious condition to a hospital in Dax, a city in the Landes region, about 700 kilometers from Paris, but could not resist the injuries.
The local newspaper “Sud Ouest” reported that it is not yet known if the young man was a fan and said that the Bayonne Judicial Police are investigating the incident. The two deaths were the most serious incidents recorded so far during the celebrations for winning PSG, which thrashed Inter Milan on Saturday 5-0 to win the main club competition in Europe for the first time. Throughout France, 192 people were injured and 692 fires were recorded, 264 of which involved vehicles, according to the authorities’ provisional report.
500 kilometers southeast of Paris in Grénoble, a car ran over a crowd in the early hours of Sunday, injuring four members of the same family, two of them seriously. Similarly, in Paris, epicenter of the celebrations, about 500 people were arrested for clashes with the police, and numerous damage and withdrawals were recorded to some establishments, despite the presence of about 5,000 police officers.
