Religions give many people, but they are and have always been a source of conflicts. In the project “Christian-Islamic Religious Education in Team Teaching”, Grazer tried to establish a mutual understanding of different religions in the form of an interconfessional lesson at school. The project was recently completed after three years of term. Wolfgang Weirer, head of the Institute for Catechetics and Religious Education at the Catholic theological Faculty of the University of Graz, and Islamic religious pedagogue Mevlida Mešanović from the private pedagogical University of Augustinum in Graz The project was supported by the Austrian Research Promotion Society FWF and had a volume of almost 400,000 euros.
