Candidate for president of the State of São Paulo, state deputy Antonio Donato argues that the party works for the candidates of the Minister of Finance, to the government in 2026 and the vice president, (), to a place in the Senate.
“The PT has to defend what is best in the election: Haddad to the government and Alckmin to the Senate. Whether they will accept or not, I don’t know, but we can’t just wait for the white smoke to get out of Brasilia,” says Donato.
Representative of the new inner current direction, he has as his main opponent in the internal election Federal Deputy Kiko Celeguim, who seeks reelection in the presidency of the state directory and is the favorite in the vote, scheduled for July 6.
Haddad and Alckmin for now resist running next year. The minister has told allies that he intends to stay in office until the end of the government, while the deputy wants to be kept on the petista’s plate to reelection.

“We had 45% of the votes in 2022 with Haddad for the government. For me, he has to repeat the candidate,” he says.
According to him, the PT has over a whole year ahead to wear out the governor. “Tarcisio pays too much in Bolsonaro, has the feeling of insecurity. In Campo Limpo, where I live, no one walks more with a cell phone on the street. The game can be played,” he says.
