Max Verstappen well tried to win the Formula 1 Spain GP for the fourth time in a row, but dominated the race at the Montmeló race track in Catalonia on Sunday (01), and gave no chance to Red Bull, commanding McLaren’s double with Lando Norris second. The four -time champion, who fought for the victory until the safety car entrance at the end, arrived in fifth place, behind Leclerc and Russell, but suffered a penalty at the end and fell to tenth. In an outstanding start, the Pole Position Oscar Pistri went well and kept the platoon lead, but Lando Norris silly and lost second place to Max Verstappen. George Russell also dropped ill and was overtaken by the Ferraris of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, falling from room to sixth. Deep down, Gabriel Bortoleto passed Alexander Albon, but was overtaken by teammate, Nico Hülkenberg, and was 12th. After 8 of 66 laps, the leader of the driver World Cup already opened 3s1 ahead of Verstappen, who was closely followed by Norris.

In the fight for fourth place, Leclerc attacked Hamilton, who was holding as he could, while Bortoleto came 2s9 behind Alonso and defended himself from Liam Lawson’s onslaught. With the stops of Hülkenberg and Gasly, the Brazilian took over 10th. With a much more competitive McLaren than Red Bull, Norris surpassed Verstappen and took second place on lap 13 – the Dutch took advantage and made his pit stop to put soft tires and returned eighth. Bortoleto was overtaken by Lawson, but took advantage of an Alonso locked to keep 10th.

Winner of the previous three races in Barcelona, ​​Verstappen surpassed his opponents without difficulty and soon took fourth place behind Piostri, Norris and Russell – the Ferraris went to the boxes. Without changing tires, Bortoleto came slower and slower and, after stopping in the 20th round, returned in the last position. With the stops of the two McLaren cars, Verstappen took the lead of the race on lap 23, followed by Pistri, Norris, Leclerc and Hamilton. At the end of the platoon, Bortoleto exceeded Ocon and took over 18th. With a more successful strategy, Hülkenberg’s Sauber occupied the tenth post.

Difficult to pilot his Red Bull, Verstappen went to the boxes on lap 30 and returned fourth, ahead of Hamilton Piostri resumed the 5s1 lead leadership over Norris. Bortoleto surpassed Colapinto and, with Tsunoda’s stop and Albon’s abandonment, took 15th place. After the tire exchanges, at Giro 51, Pistri and Norris maintained their positions, but Verstappen pressured the British. Bortoleto also stopped and returned in 17th, just ahead of Colapinto. Three laps later, Bearan disrupted the four -time champion and took Norris out of the suffocation, opening 2s7 over the Dutch.

On the end of the end, Kimi Antonelli lost the engine, left the track and the safety car was fired. The pilots took the opportunity to change tires and left Bortoleto in 12th position. On the return of the dispute, on lap 61, Leclerc put the boat over Verstappen and took third place, while Bortoleto passed Ocon and climbed to 11th. Two turns from the end, Alonso surpassed the Brazilian, who fell to 12th. Russell passed Verstappen, harmed with hard tires, and took fourth place while Hülkenberg left Hamilton’s Ferrari behind, occupying sixth place. Without being bothered, Piostri received the flag first, followed by Norris, Leclerc, Russell and Verstappen, who was punished with the loss of 10 seconds and ended in tenth. After the triple spin by Italy, Monaco and Spain, Formula 1 returns on June 13-15 at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montréal, in the Canada GP, the tenth stage of the season.
