The House of Representatives Sports Commission approved a bill that requires academies located in regions with air humidity below 60% to install humidifiers.

The rapporteur of the proposal, Deputy Dr. Luiz Ovando (PP-MS), says that practicing exercises in very dry environments can cause respiratory problemsespecially in people with asthma, rhinitis or other respiratory diseases.

The congressman also pointed out that this is a simple, low -cost measure, and that it improves students’ experience in gyms. “It is a way to value sport as part of health promotion and well-being,” he said.

The project will still be analyzed by the Health and Constitution and Justice Commissions of the Chamber. As it is in conclusive processing, if approved in these commissions, it can go straight to the Senate.
