The president announced late on Saturday (31), that he is removing the nomination of the technology billionaire, a member of, to head the aerospace agency of the United States (NASA). The statement comes a day after the Trump government’s farewell. ”After a thorough review of previous associations, I am, through this, removing Jared Isaacman’s nomination to command NASA,” Trump wrote on his Truth profile. “Soon I will announce a new nominee who will be aligned with the mission and put the United States first in space,” he added.

Trump had announced in December, during the presidential transition period, Isaacman’s choice to be the next space agency administrator. The 42 -year -old billionaire has been a close collaborator for Musk since he bought his first chartered flight at Spacex in 2021. He is CEO and founder of Shift4, a credit card payment processing company. Isaacman also acquired a series of Spacex space flights and performed the first private space walk.

The Senate Science and Transport Committee approved Isaacman’s nomination at the end of April, and a vote in the Senate plenary was expected soon. Musk lamented Trump’s decision. In a comment published in X in a post on the subject, he stated that “it is rare to find someone so competent and good heart.”
