According to Kiev, the current front line should be the starting point for negotiations on the territory. This stems from a copy of the document available to me by Reuters.
Ukraine will submit its proposal for a peaceful solution to the military conflict at Monday’s negotiations in Istanbul, Turkish, TASR.
Ukraine will propose a ceasefire for at least 30 days, followed by the return of all prisoners detained by both parties and Ukrainian children dragged to the territory controlled by Russia. Subsequently, a meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenský with the head of Kremlin Vladimir Putin should be held.
Ukrainian officials said earlier this week that they sent this plan to the Russian side before the negotiations. According to Reuters, the conditions listed in the document are identical to those that Kiev Moscow has submitted in the past. Ukraine continues to refuse to recognize Russian occupied territories, limit its military capacities and demand reparations.
The second round of direct Ukrainian-Russian negotiations will take place in Istanbul on Monday. The Ukrainian delegation will be led by Minister of Defense Rust Umer and the head of the Russian delegation will be advisor to Russian President Vladimir Medinsky.
