The United States sent to Iran an “acceptable” proposal about its nuclear program and “it should be accepted,” an American medium said on Saturday, citing the White House.
“The special envoy [para o Oriente Médio, Steve] Witkoff sent a detailed and acceptable proposal to the Iranian regime, and it is appropriate to accept it, ”said White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, according to the The New York Times.
The proposal comes shortly after a UN report indicates that Iran intensified highly enriched uranium production.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abás Araqchi stated that his Oman’s counterpart presented him “elements of an American proposal” during his visit to Tehran on Saturday.
According to the The New York Timesthe proposal urges Iran to completely interrupt the enrichment of uranium and proposes the creation of a regional consortium to produce nuclear energy, which would include Iran, Saudi Arabia and other Arab states, as well as the United States.
Iran has made five rounds of negotiations with the United States in search of a new agreement to replace the pact signed with the main powers and abandoned by President Donald Trump during his first term in 2018.
