Daily use of vitamin D may be the key to slowing biological aging. This stems from a breakthrough study in which scientists from Harvard University found that People who used a vitamin D3 capsule daily stood slower than those who received placebo.
During the four -year research, Harvard scientists have found that participants taking vitamin D3 were less damaged by DNA – a sign of slower aging. According to the authors, this corresponds to the slowdown in the aging process by almost three years compared to the group that used placebo.
In a study published in the American magazine The Journal of Clinical Nutrition, scientists watched 1,031 adult persons who used either 2,000 international troops (IU) vitamin D3 or placebo for four years a day. Using blood samples, scientists measured the length of the telomer – the end parts of the chromosomes. Telomeres are shortened with age and their length is closely related to life expectancy. After the critical length is reached, the cell disappears.
Researchers have found that telomers were up to eight times longer in people who used vitamin D3 daily than those who received placebo. “Our findings suggest that targeted vitamin D3 supplementation may be a promising strategy to slow down the biological aging process, even if further research is needed,” The authors mentioned.
