Elections in Poland: Ball of the ballot box shows twist and fierce dispute

Conservative historian Karol Nawrocki appeared with an advantage in the presidential elections in Poland on Sunday after the last update of a ballot box research.

The survey conducted by Ipsos for TVN, TVP and Polsat broadcasters showed Nawrocki with 50.7% of the votes, while the Liberal Mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Trzaskowski, was 49.3%.

Previous results, published shortly after voting, indicated an inverted result, with Nawrocki had achieved 49.7% of the votes and Trzaskowski with 50.7%.

Voting is seen as one compared to Donald Trump’s style nationalism.

Official results should be released on Monday (2).

Nawrock, 42, is an amateur boxer who driving a national memory institute. He campaigned promising to ensure that the government’s economic and social policies favored the Polish over other nations, including refugees from neighboring Ukraine.

Already Trzaskowski, 53, had promised to help the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk to complete his democratic reforms, which, according to both, aim to repair the erosion of brakes and counterweights of the previous nationalist government, which lost power in 2023.
