The 2024/2025 season has ended this Sunday with an exciting phase held in Bilbao. The appointment has gathered more than 1,000 players, players and members of the technical bodies of the teams in a weekend in which Athletic Club has exercised as a host for the 47 clubs that make up this LaLiga project through its foundation for more than seven years.
During May 31 and June 1, Lezama’s facilities have become the most inclusive football epicenter, hosting the last 66 games of a season that has once again demonstrated why this league is unique. The great moment of the season came Sunday with the closing ceremony in which the four champions teams of this seventh edition were announced. In the sports field, the Barça Foundation was proclaimed winner of the respect group, while Villarreal CF was the best in the companionship group. The Fair Play trophy was for Burgos CF and Málaga CF.
The act was supported by Nerea Ortiz, vice president of Athletic Club, Honor President of Athletic Club and Clemente Valverde, president of the LaLiga Foundation. Ortiz took advantage of his speech to extol the values of the Basque team. “This weekend all the values we encourage in our club have been clear.” Iribar thanked the players for their participation in the event. “Having you this weekend here has been a pride, I have lived a cluster of sensations to see what these players do,” he said. Valverde, on the other hand, made a balance of the season and thanked all the clubs that they exercised as hosts during the year for “the involvement with which they have welcomed the essence of this initiative and for generating an environment of values and respect where we have gone,” he said.
After the six headquarters of Tarragona, Valencia, A Coruña, Vila-Real, Burgos and Bilbao and the more than 270 games played throughout the year, the seventh season of the League is closed with the most inclusive football in the world. One more year, the Genuine force has left their mark, reminding us that football can be much more than a sport: a powerful social transformation tool that values companionship, sportsmanship and friendship, without giving up passion or the emotion of the competition.
