Gol should leave the judicial recovery this week, says CEO

Adrian Neuhauser of Abra Group highlights the difficulties of the air sector in the pandemic and maintains expectation of merger with blue

The group of the group that controls Gol Linhas Aéreas, Adrian Neuhauser, said on Monday (2.Jun.2025) that the airline should leave the judicial recovery in the United States later this week.

“When this happens, we believe that Gol will have been restructured”declared the executive of Abra Group in panel of the Annual Conference of IATA (International Air Transport Association), held in New Delhi, India.

Neuhauser stated that the Latin American air sector continues to face financial difficulties due to the lack of government support during the Covid-19 pandemic. According to him, the lack of subsidies forced large companies to undergo successive restructuring to maintain their operations.

“When we passed covid, governments had limited budgets. They had to decide what to do. We didn’t receive, as a sector in our region, virtually no support from the governments. That’s why we see all these large and reasonably successful airlines that had to undergo one restructuring after another.”he declared.

On Wednesday (28.MAI.2025), Azul also announced that it joined to restructure debt and preserve its operations.

Despite Azul’s new movement, Neuhauser stated that the intention to unite the operations of the two Brazilian companies stand.
