The winner of the Polish presidential election was the candidate of the opposition Karol Nawrocki with 50.9 percent of the vote on Monday after the census of all election districts. The candidate of the government civic coalition Rafal Trzaskowski finished second with a profit of 49.1 percent of the vote. According to APA, DPA and Polish media, TASR informs.
The first estimates of the Exit Poll immediately after the closure of the polling stations showed the opposite result and attributed a tight lead to the Mayor of Warsaw Trzaskowski. During the census, Nawrocki got into the lead during the night for Monday, but his lead was gradually decreasing. However, Nawrocký, as the winner of the decisive second round of the Polish presidential election, even before the census of all districts, for example, the Rzeczpospolita newspaper and the Onet.pl.
Neither candidates commented on the results during the night, although Trzaskowski declared victory immediately after the elections and thanked for the support. At the same time, Nawrocki said he believed in his victory. Official results will be published by the Central Election Commission during Monday. Nawrocki, supported by the opposition Party Law and Justice (PIS), will also replace Pis Andrzej Duda as president.
