The company states that it has always been open to dialogue, but did not get a return from previous management. Dissatisfied with current values, the club began to negotiate with Adidas a contract of $ 700 million for 10 years. The negotiations were advanced, but were interrupted by the need for approval by Cori (Guidance Council).

Last week, Corinthians held meetings with representatives of Nike and Adidas. Conversations are being conducted by Vinicius Manfredi, marketing superintendent recently rehired by the club.

The new management has adopted an approach based on transparency and seeks to avoid legal disputes with Nike. The contract in force includes an exclusive clause, which guarantees the current supplier the preference during the validity period of the agreement.

Nike should present a proposal with updated values ​​in the coming weeks. In a statement, the company highlighted the partnership of over 20 years with the club.

In the statement, the brand recalled campaigns developed with the club, such as “Corinthiano Roxo”, “Corinthians Popular Republic”, “Almighty Terrão”, honors to Ayrton Senna, the 30th anniversary of the first Brazilian title, the 2000 years of 2000 and actions such as the Blackout shirt against racism.

Through Fisia, its official distributor in Brazil, Nike has reaffirmed the commitment to “offer the best innovation in sports clothing and amplify the voice of the Corinthian community to continue raising the club’s culture and legacy”.
